Grainger Contracting & Services Awarded $498,912.13 Contract and Completes Purple Heart Drive Pavement Repairs at Dover Air Force Base
Marietta, Georgia – Grainger Contracting & Services, a Marietta-based federal contractor, announced the successful completion of the Repair of Purple Heart Drive Pavement project at Dover Air Force Base (Dover AFB) in Dover, Delaware. Grainger was awarded the firm-fixed-price contract in the amount of $498,912.13 and delivered the work in compliance with all installation access, security, and operational requirements required to perform construction on an active U.S. Air Force base.
The project scope included pavement repair work on Purple Heart Drive, including areas identified as Section 40 and Section 70, and required all associated demolition, labor, materials, equipment, cleanup, disposal, and demobilization. Work was executed under the heightened compliance environment of an operational military installation, requiring strict adherence to base procedures for personnel identification, vehicle access, controlled entry, and accountability.
Purple Heart Drive carries a name that represents one of America’s most respected military honors. The Purple Heart is awarded to U.S. service members who are wounded or killed as a result of enemy action, presented in the name of the President. The name “Purple Heart Drive” stands as a visible reminder of the sacrifice carried by America’s wounded and fallen heroes, including those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
